TechUPWOMEN

A multi award winning, trailblazing programme developed closely with industry, which takes women from underserved groups and retrains them into tech careers. BAC's role was to design the 12 week course with the numerous stakeholders and continue to refine and adapt the course over the past two years.

Dicey Tech

Dicey tech Ltd is an innovative company which is devoted to building the early career network.  I worked with them to further develop their industry sponsored school competitions around Rail, Cybersecurity and Product design.  I provided educational consultancy and guidance and very much enjoyed working with this vibrant company.

STEM learning

I have worked for STEM in the role of Professional Development Lead, promoting and delivering high quality computer science education CPD to schools in the North West. I have also developed materials which were used by the Teach Computing initiative including units on "The Impact of Technology" and "Cybersecurity".  In addition I am certified associate trainer and coach for STEM, as well as having worked as Computer Science Champion for hubs in the North West.  I also taught the first cohort of CAS Master teachers at Edge Hill University.

Raspberry Pi

I worked  as the content writer on the "Understanding Maths and Logic in Computer Science" online course which enabled teachers to improve their ability to teach maths and logic in computing while building elements of an escape room,  I also contributed engaging activities and quality assured the "Introduction to Cybersecurity for teachers" online course which explored key concepts of cybersecurity to teach students aged 14 to 16 with an online cybersecurity course supported by Google.

Monk Makes

Monk Makes is an internationally renowned manufacturer of kits and accessories for the BBC micro: bit and Raspberry Pi.  I produce school-ready resources in order to teach computer science skills to secondary school students, based on the use of Monk Makes electronic components with the BBC micro: bit. This includes resources for: Air Quality Kit, Electronics Starter Kit, Slider and Solar Experimenters Kit. This requires an in-depth knowledge of the computing curriculum and a creative approach to learning.

Apps for Good

Apps for Good provide free tech innovation courses to students, giving teachers ready-made education content, so young people from all backgrounds can develop computing and essential skills to change their world for the better. I provided consultation and editing on their most recent course "Innovate for climate change".
