My Story
In 1989 the World Wide Web was born and in the same year I went to University and discovered a zeal for systems development and Information Technology (IT). I studied Business Information Technology and went on to work in project management in both the NHS and a media company. Inevitably, being involved in the implementation of new IT systems crossed over with preparing training materials and training staff and this became the part of the job that gave me the biggest thrill. I trained to be an IT teacher and after teaching in secondary education moved to Edge Hill University to become a teacher of teachers in Computer Science and IT. During that time, not only did I have the good fortune to work with a great professional team and fantastic students but I also became a researcher focussing mostly on Computer Science pedagogy. In addition I undertook writing work for the wonderful Raspberry Pi Foundation and wrote a very successful book about programming apps using App Inventor. Now, I can help other schools, universities or businesses promote their products or subjects in their setting to enhance Computer Science education. My background in project management means that I am completion and deadline focussed and am able to see the big picture for businesses, universities or schools trying to maximise their offering.
